Abide in Christ
ONE Church Morning Prayer — October 8, 2026
Father, thank You for this new day and for the life we have in Jesus Christ.
Thank You that we do not begin today trying to earn Your love, Your presence, or Your approval. In Christ, we have been brought near. In Christ, we have been made new. In Christ, we have everything we need to walk faithfully today.
Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches... for without me ye can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (KJV)
So today we choose to abide in Christ.
We surrender our plans, our pride, our fears, our need to control, and every voice that tries to pull our attention away from Jesus. We declare that Christ is our source, Christ is our strength, Christ is our peace, and Christ is the Head of His Church.
We are not separate people competing for position. We are members of one Body. We belong to Christ, and because we belong to Him, we belong to one another.
Today we choose humility over pride, forgiveness over offence, obedience over comfort, faith over fear, and love over division.
We declare that our identity is not determined by yesterday, by failure, by circumstance, or by what others have called us. We are who God says we are in Christ: redeemed, forgiven, reconciled, called, and made alive in Him.
Our lives are surrendered again today. Our hands belong to You. Our words belong to You. Our work, our homes, our ministries, and our relationships belong to You.
Wherever we go today, we carry the life of Christ within us. We will serve rather than seek recognition. We will build rather than tear down. We will encourage rather than condemn. We will walk in truth and love.
And as the Body of Christ, we stand together in the prayer of Jesus: that we would be one.
One Christ. One Body. One Mission.
Thank You, Father, that the same Christ who called us is faithful to complete His work in us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
ONE Church in Christ Jesus
One Christ. One Body. One Mission.
