Grace, Growth, and a Life of Service — Stephen Gale’s Testimony
My testimony — Stephen Gale
My faith journey began in childhood, but it has not been a straight road. There was a long season when I drifted from God and tried to carry life in my own strength. Behind the responsibilities and outward accomplishments, I struggled to find lasting peace.
Returning to Jesus Christ changed the direction of my life. I accepted Him as my personal Lord and Saviour and began learning what it means to surrender—not to give up responsibility, but to stop believing I had to control every outcome.
Through His grace, I found renewed hope and purpose. That restoration continues to shape how I approach my family, my work, and the people around me. I am still learning, still growing, and grateful for the opportunity to live with greater humility and intention.
For more than twenty years, I worked in the elevator industry, where safety, sound judgment, teamwork, and responsibility matter every day. Working alongside others and helping people develop their skills taught me that leadership carries an obligation to listen, communicate clearly, and take accountability for decisions.
My faith gives those lessons deeper meaning. I want my beliefs to be reflected in practical ways: keeping my word, treating people respectfully, accepting correction, doing careful work, and being willing to help. Whether I am working, serving in ministry, or supporting someone through a difficult season, I want to be someone others can trust.
My own difficult years have also deepened my compassion. I understand that a person’s outward circumstances rarely tell their whole story. I want to stand beside people, listen without rushing to judgment, and encourage them toward hope and meaningful next steps.
That desire is part of why I founded ONE Church. Its mission is rooted in a simple conviction: One Christ. One Body. One Mission. My hope is to help believers and local churches grow in unity through prayer, Scripture, discipleship, and service, strengthening the local church and keeping Jesus Christ at the centre.
I continue to pursue learning in Christian counselling and pastoral care because a desire to help should be accompanied by preparation, humility, and accountability.
My testimony is a story of God’s grace and the responsibility of responding to it. Jesus Christ has given me a reason to move forward with gratitude, to learn from the past, and to use what I have been given to serve others.
I cannot change every chapter behind me. I can take responsibility for how I live today—and, with God’s help, make the next chapter one of integrity, compassion, and faithful service.
